ABOUT
Our main goal as music teachers is to be able to equip our students with the tools that they need to be able to play music on their own and to instill in them a love of music that will last their entire lifetime. Regardless of whether they pursue music as a career, we hope that long after they have moved on from taking lessons, they will be able to sit down at the piano or harp after a tiring day of work and play music that will refresh their souls. Our second goal is to cultivate a desire in our students to bless others through the music they create!
OUR TEACHERS
Janice and Stephanie Iorga are two sisters who share many common interests and life experiences together. They both began their music teaching journey in 2007 and have since gone on to pursue a career in musical performance and private teaching. Though several years apart, they attended California State University, Long Beach together where they each obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. As young teachers, their dream was to open a music studio together where they could continue inspiring students to learn and come to love music making. After completing their undergraduate studies, both sisters moved to Riverside County, where they established SJA Music Studio in the spring/summer of 2020.
Music has been a part of Ms. Janice’s world for as long as she can remember. Growing up in a home where all three of her older siblings played piano, she eagerly followed in their footsteps and began taking piano lessons at the age of five. Even as a young musician, Ms. Janice was given the opportunity to play as a soloist, accompanist and ensemble member – all of which she hopes her students may experience as well. Her musical circles provided her with a good foundation in the genres of sacred and classical music, though she enjoys playing pop and other secular genres of music for fun as well.
Ms. Janice holds a Bachelor of Music degree with an option in Piano Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, CSU Long Beach. When not busy with studio responsibilities, she enjoys spending time with her family, paper crafting, going out on boba tea runs, visiting with friends, and playing piano duets with her sister Stephanie.
Blessed with wonderful teachers, Miss Iorga wishes to follow their examples and make a difference in others’ lives by teaching music. Her musical journey began at the age of five when she started piano lessons. She took up the harp three years later and continued learning both instruments through her teen years. At the age of ten, Miss Stephanie began playing for her church, and eventually became one of the main pianists. As a child, she enjoyed arranging hymns which is still one of her favorite musical endeavors.
Stephanie obtained her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in Harp Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University Long Beach. In addition to teaching piano and harp, Miss Iorga regularly performs with various orchestras, bands, and other ensembles, as well as a solo harpist for private events. Aside from teaching and performing, Stephanie enjoys spending time with family and friends, eating Thai food, playing board games, and listening to audio books.
